Our 10-day safari to the North Western part of Uganda takes us to the land of the BIG 5. That is Rhinos at Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Lions, Elephants, Buffalos and Leopards at Murchison Falls National Park. We shall also enjoy a Nile cruise to bottom of the falls which is so exciting.

Day 1 - Arrival at Entebbe International Airport

You will be welcomed by a representative of Dunia Tours and Travels who will transfer you to your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe. Depending on the time of your arrival, our guide will take you on a city tour for an exciting introduction to the capital city of Uganda. Visit some interesting and historical sites like Mosques, Uganda Museum and African Craft Village to buy souvenirs. We shall also advise you to have money changed into smaller denominations today. Dinner and overnight in the Kampala.

Day 2 - Transfer to Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Murchison Falls National Park.

After breakfast we shall board our safari truck to the North western part of Uganda. While on this drive, we shall pass through famous Luwero triangle to Nakasongola District then branch off, and drive to Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary for the tracking of the Rhinos. After that, we shall have a late lunch (You note that this sanctuary is the only place in Uganda where you can see Rhinos in wild since they were poached to extinction in the early 1970s). After lunch, we shall continue to the Safari Lodge in Murchison Falls National Park.

Day 3 - Game drive and boat cruise in Murchison Falls National Park

Early morning, we shall go with our packed breakfast for a game drive. We shall pass in Tangi Gate to the northern bank to see animals. It’s the highlight of our safari, we hope to see animals like Buffaloes, Lions, leopards, Giraffes, Elephants and many more. We shall have a picnic breakfast then drive to Paraa Safari Lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, take a cruise to then bottom of the falls. While on this cruise expect to see animals we missed to see on our regular game drive since they come to the River banks to drink water. Your guide will serve you snacks and drinks. At the bottom we shall leave the boat and hike to the Top of the falls to see the Mighty River being squeezed in a Seven Meter Gorge which forms rainbow and causes rain to drop at this place all the time. After that we shall find our driver and return to the Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight in the Park.

Day 4 - Murchison Falls National Park - Kibale Forest National Park (Chimpanzee land).

Depart for Kibale forest national park in the mid-western part of Uganda which is known for 13 species of primates. It will take approximately 3-4 hours to reach Kibale National Park. Upon arrival in Fort Portal, have lunch then drive to Kibale Forest National Park and check-in to your hotel. Dinner and retire to bed at leisure.

Day 5 - Kibale Forest National Park (Chimpanzee land)

After breakfast we shall drive to the UWA headquarters to be briefed about Chimpanzee tracking. Thereafter, we shall enter the Forest in Search of the Chimps. Kibale Forest is known for harboring the 13 different species of Primates in Africa. We shall find them, take pictures with them. Thereafter we shall travel back to our hotel for Lunch and evening at leisure.

Day 6 - Kibale Forest National Park - Queen Elizabeth National Park.

After a warm early morning breakfast, we shall drive towards the south western part of Uganda to Queen Elizabeth National Park which is the most visited in Uganda among others. It will take approximately 1-2 without any stopovers. We shall enter the park and may see animals on our way to the lodge like Lions, Kobs and many more. Check in at the lodge, dinner and overnight stay in the Park.

Day 7 - Game drive and boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

In the park, early morning, wake to an early breakfast and head for the thrilling game drive at 6:00am. Game to view include; Lions, Elephants, Leopards, Buffaloes, Hyenas and a variety of Antelope species. After lunch enjoy the unique 2-hour boat ride on the Kazinga Channel. You will have a chance to view Hippos at close range. While on this game drive, you will be able to watch other bird species and there after transfer back to the lodge for dinner and overnight in the Park.

Day 8 - Queen Elizabeth National Park - Bwindi impenetrable Forest National Park

Today, we shall wake up very early and exit QENP for Bwindi impenetrable national park. We will pass the southern sector of the park, called Ishasha which is known for the tree-climbing lions and here expect to see some of the lions resting on the branches of trees. As we are getting out of this beautiful park you will still be able to view f the wildlife in QENP. After a short drive, we shall arrive in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Check in at your Lodge and overnight in Bwindi.

Day 9 - Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

In the morning we take our breakfast and assemble for briefing according to the group which we are going to track. We shall be briefed about the does and don’ts of tracking gorillas. This activity is one of highlight of our safari, meeting with the gentle giants of Bwindi, it is difficult to foresee how many hours you will hike; it may take two to eight hours. Expect to hike in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before your encounter with the gorillas. Once you find these creatures, it is very rewarding and interesting as you observe them closely while they eat, play and rest. A unique and unforgettable experience! For conservation purposes, time spent with the gorillas is limited to one hour. The ranger guide always briefs you on how to behave with these giant apes. After the trek we return to lodge for lunch and evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight in the Park.

Day 10 - Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - Kampala

In the morning after a relaxed breakfast you will travel back to Kampala. On the way back to the city, you will have lunch on the way, stop at the craft shops to buy souvenirs for your loved one’s back home and in the evening we shall enjoy Kampala’s night life.
