Gorillas Tracking

With the population of mountain gorillas numbering up to 430 in Uganda as per the most recent census. And in the world’s population 880, it makes Uganda a home to half of the world’s remaining mountain Gorillas. The gentle giants can only be found in two national parks in Uganda, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park being the primary one with 9 groups of habituated gorilla families and 8 tourists booked per group, 72 tourists can go tracking gorillas per day another park is Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. All are found in the south western corner of Uganda.

Camping

A camping safari in Uganda (outdoor camping and backpacking) can surely make you have a close feel to mother nature’s gifts like birds, wild animals, insects, butterflies and green vegetation. If you have decided to take a camping trip to Uganda’s national parks, forest reserves, Island accommodations and any camping ground. Camping beyond these points may be dangerous with possible attacks from wild animals. Follow each of the guidelines that are given by park’s official at campsites and get a tour guide along for your safety concern. Make sure you have the right camping gear that includes tents, hiking boots, clothing and others or you can hire some from travel agents. Many of the campsites in Uganda have a self-catering kitchen, a chef and basic facilities like a pit latrine, hot water buckets and a canteen. It is very important to carry extra supplies for fuel, food, drinking water and camera batteries because restocking centers are not many in the countryside.
