UGANDA HARBORS THE SECOND LARGEST LAKE IN THE WORLD
With a surface area of approximately 59,947 km2 (23,146 sq mi), Lake Victoria is Africa’s largest lake by area, the world’s largest tropical lake, and the world’s second-largest fresh water lake by surface area after Lake Superior in North America.

Africa Big 5 animals is a term emerged way back on the 1800s by trophy hunters, referring to what they considered the most challenging and dangerous animals to hunt on foot. These included the African Elephant, Lion, Leopard, African Buffalo, and Rhinoceros. Uganda is blessed to have these glorious and fierce beasts.
THE EQUATOR CROSSES UGANDA
Uganda is one of the blessed countries with the equator crossing through. Visit to this wonder gives you chance to be in two places at the same time. The northern hemisphere and the other southern hemisphere; it is such an amazing experience to stand at both sides of the world. The sun rises and falls rather so fast at the equator, with equal days and nights’ length. It is located along the Masaka road you can’t miss it.
EAT A FEW ROLEXES FOR BREAKFAST AND FRIED GRASS HOPPERS
These Ugandan delicacies are popular food items in Uganda. The Rolex is a combination of an egg omelet and vegetables wrapped in a chapati. This single-portion dish is quick to prepare, and can be eaten at any time of the day, from breakfast to a lunch or supper meal or snack, the talk of the town.
Then there is the grasshopper, crunchy, tasty, and juicy, a very nutritious delicacy – either boiled or deep-fried. They are so popular that some are worried about declining harvests, as the BBC once reported.
HOT SPRINGS
Uganda has 7 major hot springs located in different parts of the country, especially in Western Uganda. Namely Kitagata Hot Springs, Sempaya Hot Springs, Rwagimba Hot Springs, Amoropii Hot Springs, Buranga Hot Springs, Ihimba Hot Springs, and Kibiro Hot Springs.
Some of the hot springs can boil an egg in 10 minutes. The water in the springs warm up to 120 °C (248 °F).
These hot springs are worshipped by locals who traditionally believe that they carry healing powers. They do believe the gods reside in the hot spring. But scientifically, the water from the hot springs have been found to contain varying amounts of minerals and chemicals which are known to have medicinal values in them.
It is estimated that about 800 People visit some of the springs per week to bathe. When bathing in a hot spring, the dense clouds of steam rise above the rippling water to bathe you in beads of moisture. This is equivalent to being in a sauna, albeit fully clothed.
THE KASUBI TOMBS
Located in masiro road in kasubi. The Kasubi Tombs has been a burial ground for four kabakas (kings of Buganda) it was first built in 1881 on the Kasubi hill in Kampala. The tombs were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001 but were unfortunately destroyed by fire on March 16, 2010. To the people of the Buganda nation (the largest sub-national kingdom in present-day Uganda), the tombs are a symbol of a spiritual, political and social state of its people. Despite the unfortunate incident, the site still gets regular visits while the main palace is being rebuilt.

MOST FRIENDLY PEOPLE
According to a BBC report Uganda has been described as the friendliest country globally due to a survey conducted by expatriates globally, in recent months, a global community network (Inter-Nations) conducted their annual Expat Insider survey of more than 14,000 expats from 191 countries, asking residents to rate a number of aspects about life abroad, including how easy it was to settle in, a country’s friendliness and ease of making friends. And Uganda won the vote.

Night life starts at dusk with incredible Nyama Choma spots (Ugandan style grilled meat). Local Cocktails, you get to delight yourself at local bars, night clubs and even casinos. You get to party like a local with the locals. While enjoying the ambiance of the beautifully lite hilly city. “Kampala never sleeps” All you have to do is to bring with you are dancing shoes, and extra money for drinks.
MOUNTAIN RWENZORI
(Mountains Of the Moon) Rwenzori Mountains is Africa’s largest and highest mountain range, the Mt. Rwenzori (Mountains of the Moon as Greek philosopher Ptolemy called them) are found on the western rim of the Great Rift Valley that goes through Uganda. Mt. Rwenzori, the third highest in Africa, has permanent snow and glacier through the year. It has the unique three horned chameleon.
RIVER NILE UGANDA
Getting its water from Lake Victoria, the Nile is the world’s longest river. Historically the source of Nile was discovered by John Hannington Speke on 3rd August in 1858.
